Booker has temporarily cancelled allocations to help maintain availability for its retailers over the coming weeks.
In a message sent to Londis retailers, and seen by Better Retailing, the wholesaler said: “To ensure an improved level of service and free up capacity across our supply chain network over the coming weeks, please be aware of the following information regarding allocations, including pre-ordered stock.”

The changes have impacted ambient and frozen allocations, while fresh allocations will continue as normal.
Commenting on the cancellations, Alan Mannings, of Shop on the Green in Chartham, Canterbury, said: “This is actually beneficial as our allocations average several hundreds of pounds in value. We’re not having to hold stock which might not necessarily sell, which has been the case sometimes in the past.”
