EXCLUSIVE: Booker to increase minimum order requirements for Londis and Budgens deliveries

The increase will require retailers to order 125 cases, instead of 100

Londis and Budgens retailers are to see their minimum order quantity (MOQ) increase from 100 to 125 cases per delivery from March.

Several of the symbol group’s retailers told Better Retailing that the changes were communicated to them by their retail development managers in February. In 2019, Booker Retail Partners had decreased the MOQ for Londis and Budgens stores from 150 to 100 cases per delivery.

The changes come as Booker increased the qualifying threshold for its spend and save rebate scheme for symbol and unaffiliated retailers on 20 February. Despite retailers having to spend more to qualify for the reward, Booker notably introduced vaping as an eligible product category for the loyalty scheme.

Booker has been approached by Better Retailing for comment.
