The second Golf and Family Day in honour of Raj Aggarwal, who passed away from Covid-19 in 2020, raised over £30,000 last week.
The event, hosted by the ACS, on behalf of Sunita Aggarwal and family, saw over 200 guests join together at the Marriot ‘Forest of Arden’ in Warwickshire on 4 May.
£31,643 was raised for Sheffield Hospitals Charity and Leicester Hospitals Charity, bringing the overall amount raised by friends and family to £106,876.33
Reflecting on the day, Sunita said: “We felt the love all day and it was the biggest family get together. I’m so proud and grateful to everyone involved to have raised so much money for such great causes.”
For non-golfers, family and friends enjoyed wine tasting, spa entry and outside activities. The Aggarwal family launched their first event in May 2022, at The Belfy Hotel and Golf Resort, raising more than £22,000 for the same two charities.
Head of corporate partnerships & major giving at Sheffield Hospitals Charity, Sam Earnshaw added: “A huge thank you from us all at both Sheffield and Leicester Hospitals Charity. The time, energy and efforts put into organising this event was incredible to see. Friends, family, suppliers and sponsors came together to remember Raj and to raise money for two vital NHS charities. We are overwhelmed by the support shown from across the industry. It really was an event to be proud of.”
