Independent retailers won the top six spots in Camelot’s UK sales rankings for Tuesday’s £142million Euromillions draw.
With no winner found, the jackpot rolls over to an estimated £155m in the September 29 draw, giving independents another opportunity to bag big ticket sales and defend their top ticket seller titles.
Camelot’s head of retail James Pearson comments: “Our independent retailers are really capitalising on the fantastic sales opportunities presented by the huge, rolling EuroMillions jackpot.”
He continued: “With around 300 tickets per second expected to be sold in peak time in the run-up to the draw, we’ll be doing everything we can to help them continue to make the very most of the sales bonanza.”
Camelot launched its Allstars programme over the summer to provide support to independent retailers through a re-launch of its free helpline, additional PoS material and increased store visits. The scheme launched following retailer criticism over declining sales and costly phone bills from seeking phone support from the organisation.
