Customer service – Academy in Action 2019 follow-up

In March, the IAA and Post Office visited Riki Mhatre’s store in Newcastle upon Tyne to help improve his customer service. We return three months later to find out what he’s achieved.

IAA Academy in Action Customer Service Follow Up

IAA advice

  1. Improve the lighting around the till to better present your offering.
  2. Introduce uniforms for employees to ensure customers can easily identify staff.
  3. Write down and communicate clear customer-service expectations for staff.

Riki’s results

“Since introducing uniforms, we have a better customer relationship. Better lighting has made products easier to see, which is increasing sales, and staff have learned and applied customer service practices more effectively.”
