London based specialist drinks wholesaler HT Drinks has opened a new cash & carry site in Birmingham, opening up additional options for nearby retailers.
A statement by the company revealed the opening of the site at 47 MacDonald Street in the city, close to Birmingham New Street Station, on 13 October. The site was previously host to Maini Cash & Carry. A spokesperson for HT Drinks said: “We look forward to welcoming new customers and to meet existing ones.”
HT Drinks operates three further sites – another within Birmingham, one in Park Royal, London and a depot in Newhaven, Brighton.
The company offers nationwide delivery and click and collect services with more than 5,000 brands in stock and a three-weekly promotional cycle. HT Drinks pledges to price match its 100 top selling lines. New customers spending £1,500 on their first order receive 10% off their next three orders over £1,000. Retailers recommending a friend to use the site can also gain a 10% discount on an order over £750.
Alongside beers, wines and spirits, the alcohol specialist also ranges soft drinks, snacks, tobacco, confectionery, grocery, household, personalcare and pet supplies.
The launch of the Birmingham depot comes in the same week that Better Retailing revealed the upcoming closure of Bestway’s nearby Coventry site, which retailers said created a wholesale desert in the area following the closure of Hancock’s Coventry site earlier this year.
