Stores have been urged to ensure their location listing on Google Maps is accurate.
Retail expert Graham Soult told Better Retailing it’s important retailers update this because it’s the first thing customers see when somebody searches for their store.

“It’s about making sure that when people are looking at your business, it lists correct information,” he said. “Any business can claim their listing on Google and influence how their information appears when searched.”
Soult said a café in Chester-le-Street in Durham saw 100,000 more views on its Google page after matching the pin to its specific location, showing how many people use Google as a tool to plan their trips.
