The Fed is providing emergency funding of up to £1k for members whose businesses have seen damage in recent far-right riots.
The Fed’s national president Mo Razzaq said: “We have been shocked and appalled at the scenes of rioting, looting and destruction that has been taking place in towns and cities across the UK.
“Our first concern is always for our members so we are doing – and will continue to do – everything that we can to get those affected back on their feet.”
The Fed added that in the first instance, affected members should telephone or email its contact centre on 0207 017 8880, or contactus@nfrn.org.uk to request an application form.
This needs to be completed and returned to the Fed with relevant supporting documentation, including photographs of damage. All claims will then be forwarded to the Fed’s benefits sub-committee for consideration.
Further support
The grants follow on from The Fed providing guidance on how to cope with riot damage, alongside other trade bodies giving advice.
The Fed’s contact centre team, members of the organisation’s field force, and district presidents are also on hand to offer further comfort and support.
The financial assistance is being made available from the Fed’s Ratcliffe Fund, which helps members who have fallen on hard times or who require emergency support.
