Fed hails success of London trade show

More than 150 retailers took advantage of the offers and advice available at the free Fed event.

The Fed London district’s trade show last week was described as a success, with hundreds of attendees and new members recruited for the trade group.

More than 40 partners including suppliers, wholesalers, parcel firms and EPOS companies hosted stands with offers for retailers at the event on 10 April at the City Pavilion in Romford.

More than 150 retailers including Fed members were reported to have attended, with five signing up to become Fed members on the day. Sabahat Hussain, a regional sales manager working on behalf of Pladis described the trade show as “A fantastic opportunity for us to generate leads, showcase our offers and provide category advice across our McVities and Jacobs range.

Suppliers including Tropicana and Pladis were understood to have revealed upcoming product launches, while Mondelez’s communications manager Susan Nash highlighted Cadbury’s on pack competition, celebration the brand’s 200th anniversary this year and offering prizes for both shoppers and stores.

Energy drink firm Boost Drinks also celebrated the anniversary of the launch of its London field team, which is now visiting thousands of independent stores across the capital.

The night concluded with a free meal and a networking opportunity for all attendees.

Former London district president Alpesh Patel told Better Retailing: “It was a huge success, and I can’t thank the Fed team, members and suppliers enough that helped make this happen.”
