EXCLUSIVE: Snowshock withdraws parts replacement warranty

The decision impacts retailers with machines older than 12 months

Snowshock

Leading slush supplier Snowshock has withdrawn its parts replacement warranty for retailers who have a machine older than 12 months.

In emails seen by Better Retailing, the company said the decision was “made by management and is universally applied to all customers.”

Snowshock’s decision, which means affected retailers will now have to pay for replacement parts, came into effect as of the end of January 2020.

Jimmy Patel, of Premier Jimmy’s Store in Northampton, has been impacted by the withdrawal.

He told Better Retailing: “I received an email about the withdrawal on 31 January, the same day they stopped the warranty. It was really short notice. Something went wrong with my machine the day before and now I have to pay £120 for a new part.”
