Post Office (PO) is to roll out discount cards to subpostmasters who operate mobile vans, providing savings on the cost of fuel.
A spokesperson for PO confirmed it had just completed a trial of the cards with a number of postmasters. They said: “We increased the payments for outreaches in April rather than September as planned in recognition of the rise in fuel costs at that time with payments increasing by approximately 14%.
“We have just completed a trial of fuel cards with postmasters who operate mobile vans. Postmasters can use these cards to get discounted fuel on the forecourt working out at around 15p per litre cheaper. Following the trial, we will soon be rolling this fuel card out more widely to postmasters who operate mobile vans.”
