Reach plc has announced an exclusive edition of OK! magazine next week, meant to capitalise on the vacuum left by the closure of Reveal magazine.
The special edition of OK! goes on sale on 25 September, after Hearst's decision to close Reveal magazine due to falling sales earlier this month.
Speaking to RN, Reach's head of circulation Paul Goddard suggested the new titles will newsagents to maintain magazine sales levels following the end of Reveal. Goddard said: "We'll try and replace some of the lost RSV from recent magazine closures. OK! has the exclusive on the first ever Love Island wedding which is getting plenty of social media coverage – it's a great opportunity for independent retailers, and we are expecting this to get tills ringing."
"I ask retailers to display both the OK! stand alone and bumper pack editions in prominent positions to make the most of it," he adds.
