Delivered confectionery supplier Bobby’s is to expand its reach through Northern Ireland with a direct to store distribution deal with Henderson Group.
The firm’s national sales development manager Dave Clarke confirmed to Better Retailing that distribution to the wholesaler’s franchised stores will begin on 1 April. Henderson operates the Spar, Eurospar and Vivo brands throughout Northern Ireland. The deal will only apply to franchise branches and not company-owned sites. Bobby’s already distributes to a number of independent convenience stores in Northern Ireland.

The expansion is being supported by a new distribution warehouse in the region and team of field staff.
Clarke added the company’s ‘Apex’ development service has also reached more than 100 stores across the UK. The team, launched last year, visits shops and assists with merchandising and ranging of Bobby’s products.
“We will be expanding Apex and looking to continually work on training the team,” Clarke said.
