Specialist wholesaler Epicurium has resumed deliveries to retailers after a power outage suspended its services.
Epicurium managing director Ben McKechnie told Better Retailing the outage caused no major disruption to its 2,800 retailer customers. “We were unable to process any orders until Northern Powergrid were able to use a backup generator in the afternoon,” he said.
“Only a couple of orders were affected, but we were able to resolve these immediately. We only sell ambient products, so we had no issues in terms of chilled wastage. There have been no other issues since the outage.”
