Crime prevention minister Norman Baker assured retailers that retail crime is not taken lightly by the Home Office.
He said the key to reducing this type of crime is build a better picture of what is happening with more consistent recording of retail crimes, and retailers need to work with police to achieve this.
“The key is partnership – we need to know when these crimes occur, where they occur and who’s doing it,” he said.
