The Scottish minister responsible for deciding on a potential ban for disposable vapes is to set out “a way forward” this autumn.
Responding to a letter from Scottish Fed president Hussan Lal, minister for green skills, circular economy and biodiversity Lorna Slater said the findings of a report on tackling disposables are “being considered”.
Slater stressed a range of measures, including greater access to “responsible disposal”, improved product design and a public awareness campaign, were on the table alongside the potential ban. Slater said: “Any action […] will build on regulations already in place to restrict the marketing, promotion and sale of vaping products to under-18s.”
