From today, DHL ServicePoints will be available at 500 locations across the UK and the service is expected to roll out to a further 3,000 independent PayPoint One retailers by the end of the year.
DHL’s existing ServicePoint network with Pass My Parcel will now transition to PayPoint’s network across the UK including Northern Ireland.
A spokesperson for DHL told Better Retailing: “If retailers aren’t already part of the PayPoint network then retailers will have the option to opt into this new scheme.”
They added: “Detailed commission rates are commercially confidential but will remain very competitive under this new scheme.”
The second phase of the partnership will see DHL Parcel launching an over the counter ‘Send’ service, allowing consumers to order and pay for a delivery online and then drop off their parcels at their local PayPoint store.
DHL revealed it would take over the operation of the Pass My Parcel (PMP) delivery service in June 2018, after PMP announced its closure following a disappointing financial performance.
