London based wholesaler Dhamecha continued its journey north this week with the opening of its second midlands depot in Birmingham.
Following the ribbon cutting, the company now has nine cash and carries, with seven in London and one in Leicester.
Commenting on the launch, company CEO Pradip Dhamecha said: “We look forward to developing close relationships with the retailers and caterers in the Birmingham area.”
The launch follows its foray into the Midlands in 2015 as part of what the CEO calls an “ongoing expansion plan.”
Speaking when the Birmingham depot was announced earlier this year, then acting managing director at Today’s John Schofield described it as ”Great news for retailers and caterers in the region.”
Offering 12,000 lines, the launch provides another option for Today’s Group retail club, Today’s symbol group members and other local independents. Dhamecha also has its own symbol offering, Day 1.
The 40 year old wholesaler and Today’s Group member said 60 staff had been employed to run the new cash and carry. It is located at Steel Bright Road, Smethwick, Birmingham, B66 2NW
