Convenience stores are excluded from Deliveroo’s ‘Eat In to Help Out’ offer.
The offer gives customers who purchase from 16,000 partnered restaurants £5 off orders of more than £20 on Monday to Wednesday throughout September. However, Deliveroo confirmed to RN that convenience stores cannot participate.
It follows the government’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, which offered discounts of up to £10 per person on meals at restaurants on Monday to Wednesday in August. The discount was reimbursed by the government.
On the government’s scheme, James Brundle, of Spar chain Eat 17, told RN: “We participated in our Bishop’s Stortford branch, where the convenience store had an adjoining dining area. It was useful because customers did visit us to get the discount.”
