Deliveroo trialled the sale of newspapers through its delivery service over the coronation weekend.
On 6 May, shoppers were able to purchase commemorative titles from the Daily Mail, The Telegraph, The Guardian, Daily Mirror and Daily Express. The trial ran from Deliveroo Hop sites with Morrisons and Waitrose, covering London, Manchester, Cambridge, Brighton and Bristol.
This marked the first time newspapers were available on the app, and it could become a regular feature if successful.
On announcing the move, vice-president of grocery and Hop Suzy McClintock said: “Newspapers are the perfect memorabilia to capture a moment in time, so we’re excited to offer them to our customers on demand.”
