Customers forced to change bank details following Vivid Vapours website hack

Hackers have broken into of e-cigarette brand Vivid Vapours website resulting in shoppers having to cancel their cards after “malicious activity”.

Hackers have broken into e-cigarette brand Vivid Vapour’s website resulting in shoppers having to cancel their cards.

A statement on the brand’s site, vividvapours.com, said “malicious activity” had taken place and it was now working to contact the customers it believes to be affected.

“Shortly after we became aware of the incident, we notified this matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the Police and Action Fraud. We will continue to work with them, to hold those responsible for the incident to account,” the statement read.

A customer Retail Express spoke to said that she had received a call from the company earlier today (November 11) and was advised to cancel and reorder her bank card, as well as change any passwords on sites where she used the same one as Vivid’s.

The Vivid Vapours website is currently in maintenance mode, with a message on the homepage saying Vivid is “currently updating” its website. It is still taking orders from shoppers online by phone.
