Unitas Wholesale has cancelled its annual trade show in Liverpool on 17 and 18 March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Managing director Darren Goldney sent a message to attendees on 13 March notifying them of the cancellation, adding there was a “high number of supplier and member cancellations”.
Goldney wrote: “While the advice is not to cancel large events in England, and despite the venue still remaining open to host the event, as there are so few members and suppliers now attending, it would not be beneficial for the show to take place.”
Nisa Stoneleigh postponed due to coronavirus
Goldney added the wholesale buying group is currently exploring “options moving forward and will endeavour to update” all those involved in mid-March.
Suppliers who were attending will be sent a list of all attendees, enabling them to contact them and discuss the products they were going to display at the conference.
The cancellation comes as Nisa Stoneleigh and the National Convenience Show have been postponed to later this year, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
