Cook to roll out new freezers and vending machines

Premium frozen ready meal supplier Cook is to roll out new freezers with built in displays and vending machines across stores this year.

The plans were announced in the firm’s latest results for the year ending 31 March, 2023. It highlighted a trial of a freezer with a built-in video display advertising its products at Bourne Valley Garden Centre, stating “we hope to roll [it] out in the year ahead.”

Booker launches Euro Shopper ready meals

Cook is partnered with independent retailers and symbol groups across the country, supplying stores with branded freezers to store its ready meals in. The firm said it had rolled out 489 freezers altogether during the trading period, while adding 115 concession partners. Net sales rose by 10% to £36m across its concessions.

Cook also described a new self-serve vending machine as “its most exciting new launch in years,” hinting at a wider rollout.
