Former Best-one regional manager Colin Smith has pledged to improve supplier relationships for the benefit of retailers and wholesalers in his new role as Scottish Wholesale Association chief executive.
Mr Smith will start the position on 23 July after succeeding current executive director Kate Salmon. Commenting on the role, Mr Smith said: “Wholesale provides suppliers with an excellent opportunity to tap into the strong route to market offered by our members’ independent retail customers.
“I want to get that message across loud and clear and I also want to hear their views so we can tailor our offer to specific sectors of our wholesale membership.”
Mr Smith also has previous experience as an independent retailer and Costco Wholesale marketing manager.
