The Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society has joined the ACS as retail members.

In an announcement on 13 February, the ACS welcomed the Essex-based society that covers 39 Co-op food stores, two Quadrant department stores, two travel agents and nine funeral homes.

ACS chief executive, James Lowman, said the addition will “further strengthen” it’s voice when speaking to the government.

“We are delighted to welcome Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society into retail membership, further strengthening our voice when making our case to government on the key issues and challenges that our sector is facing,” he said. “I know that Barry and his team will add to the richness of our discussions and events.”
