Co-op has formally apologised to suppliers after it was found to be delisting products without adequate notice, sparking an investigation from the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA).
The report found Co-op had contravened the code in relation to delisting lines and variation of supply agreements.

The report stated: “The Co-op delisted suppliers with no, or short, fixed notice periods that were not reasonable in the circumstances.”
Jo Whitfield, Co-op Food chief executive, said: “We are sorry. We cooperated fully with the GCA during the investigation and have worked hard to fix things as quickly as possible, including refunding over £650,000 to suppliers.”
