Camelot is in “active talks” with the Gambling Commission to allow independent shops to sell scratchcards in delivery orders. The National Lottery operator gave an update after Snappy Shopper revealed to Better Retailing it had been made “the only approved partner to deliver scratchcards”.
Camelot clarified the Gambling Commission had only given approval for multiple groups using Snappy Shopper, including Spar, Blakemore and CJ Lang stores, and Scotmid Co-ops. Snappy Shopper said its Challenge 25 and age-restricted item procedures helped achieve regulatory approval.
