Cadbury desserts recalled over food poisoning concerns

Six Cadbury desserts have been recalled from supermarket shelves “as a precautionary measure” over food poisoning concerns.

The concerns come as the products, made by Müller, may be contaminated with listeria bacteria.

The products recalled today, on 2 May, include the Cadbury Crunchie Chocolate Dessert and Cadbury Flake Chocolate Dessert with a use by date of 17 May, and the Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunks Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Heroes Chocolate Dessert (six pack) and Cadbury Daim Chocolate Dessert with a use by date of 18 May.

Muller has told customers to return any of the mentioned products back to the point of sale for a full refund, with or without a receipt, according to the Evening Standard.

A spokesperson from Müller UK & Ireland told Better Retailing: “Müller UK & Ireland has taken the decision to recall some batches of certain Cadbury chocolate dessert that it produces as a precautionary measure. We are asking consumers to return any affected products to the store from where it was bought. “This is an isolated incident which only impacts these products in the UK and Ireland, and no other products we make in the UK or other markets are impacted.”
