Burton’s Biscuit Company is extending beyond its snacks and biscuits heartland for the first time with the acquisition of Scottish-based food company Paterson Arran.
The acquisition introduces Paterson’s shortbread into its range, as well as its foodservice biscuit and chutney brands Brontë, Café Brontë and Arran Fine Foods.
Nick Field, Burton’s Biscuit Company’s CEO, said the acquisition would increase the company’s production capabilities and enable it to unlock new trading opportunities in the foodservice market.
The deal with Paterson Arran marks the second major acquisition by the company this year after the manufacturer bought Thomas Fudge’s in February.
