‘I’m not a postmaster – I’m a post office marketeer’
Neal Gurney’s top tips:
1. Make time for brainstorming
Neal puts aside two to three 90-minute sessions per week to sit down and think about how to grow his business and raise its profile in the local community.
2. Become a market expert
Neal no longer sees himself as a postmaster, but a marketeer. He trusts his staff entirely to run his business while he works on how to market it.
3. Never stop learning
Soak up as much information as possible, whether it’s from books, people or seminars, which Neal says is the best way to keep up-to-date with the industry, and be imaginative.
