Wow Cacao has now launched in the UK, claiming to be the country’s first cacao water.
The new drink is made from cacao juice, derived from the pulp of the cacao fruit. The supplier says it is a good source of electrolytes and antioxidants, with no added sugars, flavours or sweeteners.
It is available to retailers from the supplier’s website when they make a trade account in cases of 12, at a price of £24.84 excluding VAT.

Wow Cacao currently only comes in a 500ml PET bottle with a £3.50 RRP, giving retailers a 29% margin. The supplier plans to expand formats with 275ml glass still and sparkling bottles.
Its target customers include those leading an active lifestyle and shopper looking for more mindful consumption, as well as an alcohol or caffeine alternative.
Pam Thornton, founder of Wow Cacao, said: “Wow Cacao meets consumer demands for a new water which tastes vaguely like its coconut competitor ,and at the same time is ethical and kind to the planet. To meet increased global demand, coconut water is all too often linked with deforestation, taking away what we have, to give us what we don’t need. Cacao water is taking what we already have and wasting less of it.”
