Westons Cider is marking 145 years of business with the launch of Henry Westons 1880 Vintage.
The new permanent addition to the range (ABV 6.2%) will be available to independent retailers in a 500ml bottle from Booker.
According to the supplier, it offers retailers a chance to drive cider growth as part of the crafted cider segment, which accounts for 24% of all cider sales and is growing faster than any other cider segment.
1880 Vintage is inspired by an original recipe from the Westons family archives. It is a medium cider made from a single year’s harvest using traditional apple varieties including Dabinett, Yarlington Mill and Kingston Black.

Its launch comes as the Henry Westons brand is valued at £98m and is growing by 5.1%, with its Vintage 500ml line the number one cider line in the off-trade.
“Henry Westons 1880 Vintage is a true celebration of our heritage and craftsmanship, made from a recipe passed down through five generations of the Westons family. For 145 years, we’ve been dedicated to producing exceptional ciders, and this launch perfectly combines our rich history with the evolving tastes of today’s consumers,” said Holly Chadwick, Henry Westons brand manager at Westons Cider.
“The 1880 Vintage delivers the unparalleled quality and authenticity that have established Henry Westons as a trusted leader in the UK cider market, making it a must-stock for retailers eager to capitalise on the sustained growing demand for crafted, heritage-led ciders.”
