Walkers is rolling out paper outer bags across its Snack A Jacks multipacks, in a move that it says will reduce the brand’s use of virgin plastic by 65 tonnes per year.
The new format will be available in the next month across Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Chive and BBQ varieties.

It can be widely recycled at home and collected at kerbside. Alongside the reduction in plastic, the supplier says it will lower greenhouse gas emissions of each pack by 52%.
The rollout of the paper packaging is part of PepsiCo Europe’s plans to eliminate fossil-based plastic in its crisp and snack brands by 2030.
