Walkers has launched a limited-edition range of festive-themed varieties to drive excitement in the snack aisle during the Christmas period, across its core and Sensations ranges.
The new flavours take inspiration from popular Christmas dishes, such as Festive Turkey and Pigs in Blankets. These are available in 65g £1.25 price-marked packs (PMPs) and multipacks of five at an RRP of £2.
Walkers has also taken inspiration from festive desserts, launching a Christmas Pudding variety, available as a multipack of five with a £2 RRP.
It has also added to its Sensations range with Beef Wellington and King Prawn & Marie Rose Sauce varieties. These are available in 150g bags with £2.50 RRPs.
The supplier cited the growth of meat flavours, which represent 78% of total spend within potato crisp sharing formats, alongside an 18% growth in seafood flavours, as key factors behind the new launches.
Walkers adds Wotsits Giants to RRP PMP range
Wayne Newton, senior marketing director at Walkers, said: “As sharing occasions rise during the Christmas period, shoppers are on the hunt for savoury snacks that offer something extra special and will elevate their celebrations with family and friends.
“Launching the limited-edition Walkers flavours into PMP format for the convenience channel was an obvious choice or us as these formats continue to prove popular with shoppers and retailers alike, with PMPs remaining the number one contributor to crisps and snacks growth in value vs other segments. Our new range of festive flavours will meet this shopper demand, while also generating buzz and talk-ability.”
Additionally, some of Walkers’ popular year-round sharing sellers are getting limited-edition festive packaging.
