Rubicon Spring to launch Pink Grapefruit Blood Orange variety

Barr Soft Drinks is expanding its Rubicon Spring sparkling water range with the addition of a Pink Grapefruit Blood Orange variety.

The new flavour will be available from 1 April in 500ml plain and £1 price-marked bottles.

Barr’s commercial director Jonathan Kemp said it was a response to taste being shoppers’ top consideration driving soft drinks purchases, combined with a growing interest in lower-calorie products and flavoured water.

Additionally, Rubicon Spring has been the number one flavoured sparkling water for five years in a row, according to IRI figures. It is six times bigger than the nearest branded competitor and growing penetration five times faster than the category.

“Retailers who stock good quality, low calorie products which don’t compromise on flavour, taste or value, such as Rubicon Spring, will drive more engagement and interest in their soft drinks’ fixtures, increasing basket spend and encouraging repeat purchase,” said Kemp.

Barr will support the launch with marketing under its ‘Made of Different Stuff’ campaign across digital and sampling activity.
