Mondelez’ 2023 Christmas range features eight new lines

The supplier recommends retailers split their Christmas sales into four periods, starting in September

Mondelez International is back with its 2023 Christmas range, including eight new lines for this year from Cadbury and Toblerone.

These include: Cadbury Mini Snowballs Family Pack (RRP £4.50), Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calander (RRP £10), Cadbury Chunk Collection (£6), Cadbury Buttons Selection Box (RRP £6.50), Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Orange Crisp (RRP £3.50), Cadbury Dairy Milk Coins (RRP £1.99), Cadbury Dairy Milk Money Box Tin (RRP £6), and Toblerone Truffles (RRP £6.09).

The supplier told Better Retailing that to make the most out of the season, convenience retailers should split Christmas up into four sections, starting from September.

Forty-nine per cent of shoppers planned to shop earlier for Christmas in 2022, and with this trend set to continue for this year, it’s important to get ahead and stock-up from the get-go in preparation for a fast start to the season.

Retailers should tap into the ‘big night in’ occasion at this point of the season, as shoppers will begin to favour sharing formats, multipacks and tablets. The supplier said this is a good time to start stocking products such as Roses, Heroes and Dairy Milk tablets.

In October, ‘seasonal indulgence’ comes to the forefront of shoppers’ minds, and so, retailers should focus on stocking sharing novelties like the Cadbury Mini Snowballs Family Pack, and more ‘indulgent’ self-eat lines such as Cadbury Puds, which also come in a multipack.

By the time November comes round the corner, the countdown to Christmas is in full swing. This is the period that consumers begin to prepare for the busy months ahead by stocking up on Christmas essentials.

“Retailers should stock up on core products in the range, such as Cadbury Dairy Milk 90g Advent Calendar, which is the number one line in the advent category and a key line at Christmas,” the supplier said.

Finally, December gives retailers the opportunity to tap into the gifting and sharing category, with consumers spending lots of time with friends and family.

“Retailers should stock up on the Cadbury Chunk Collection, a bestselling line which is a key product in convenience and is available in a 235g carton format. This year, Mondelez is offering a treat to the range by re-vamping the Cadbury Chunk Collection. This involves expansions into new pack sizes to tap into the sharing occasion and drive value, as well as including the addition of a new Caramilk chunk within the collection,” they said.
