McVitie’s launches festive range with returning Gingerbread Digestives

Gingerbread Flavour Milk Chocolate Digestives are back among the lineup for the first time since 2020

Pladis has unveiled its McVitie’s festive biscuit line-up for 2024, with the return of Gingerbread Flavour Milk Chocolate Digestives among other returning top sellers.

Gingerbread Flavour Milk Chocolate Digestives (RRP £1.89) will be available for the first time since 2020, when it was ranked in the top five seasonal NPD and contributed £1.2m in sales. It will be rolling out across convenience and wholesale from the end of September after an initial launch in Sainsbury’s.

Returning favourites

Returning favourites include Victoria, available in 275g and 550g packs with £4 and £5 and Family Circle, now available in a fully recyclable 400g carton (RRP £2.50).

The Jaffa Tree is also returning after a successful debut last year which saw it become the number two NPD launch of 2023. The tree-shaped carton filled with a selection of Jaffa Jonuts and Original Jaffa Cake Snack Packs has a £3 RRP.

It is joined by the Jaffa Pole, which features a special ‘Santa Stop Here’ sign activity alongside its 40 Jaffa Cakes, at an RRP of £3.75, and the Santa Snacks Chocolate Cake Bars, available in a pack of seven at an RRP of £1.80.

McVitie’s launches year-round Victoria gifting lines

Festive packaging

McVitie’s White Chocolate Digestives and Milk Chocolate Hobnobs have been given seasonal packaging to drive sales during the festive period, with Santa, snowmen and holly adorning their packs.

Sweet seasonal biscuits were worth £178m last year. “The stellar performance of Seasonal Biscuits is largely being driven by demand for assortments, particularly at the more premium end of the scale, as shoppers look to elevate in-home occasions with special snacks ready made for sharing, like our best-loved McVitie’s Victoria selection,” said James King, marketing director – McVitie’s at Pladis UK&I.

“Our 2024 range reflects the fact that the festive season is a time for indulgence and sharing, and includes new products to tempt treat-seeking shoppers to opt for biscuits, alongside refreshed classics, ensuring there’s something special for every festive moment.”
