Liquid Death ‘pauses’ UK availability

Non-alcoholic drinks brand Liquid Death is stopping its UK availability as it pauses its international expansion.

The brand, best known for its range of canned waters, said it was “temporarily pausing” international availability, according to The Grocer. It moved its production base from Austria to the US last year.

“Despite strong demand and brand awareness growth in our limited international rollout, we are temporarily pausing international efforts since we no longer have production capabilities outside of the US,” a spokesperson for Liquid Death said.

Liquid Death initially launched in the UK in spring 2023, available directly to consumers. In August 2023, it confirmed listings with Nisa and Co-op, and was also available through Tesco, Iceland and Ocado.

“Sales started off alright then went to nothing,” said one Nisa retailer. “I know of a couple of customers who asked for it, but not enough to keep it.”

A picture shared on the Facebook group Money Saving Central last month showed cans on offer for 39p, or three for £1.
