KP reduces plastic packaging across Discos, Roysters and Frisps

The supplier says the new flow wrap process saves on plastic, reduces lorry journeys, and gives retailers more on-shelf space

KP Snacks has announced a further investment in flow wrap equipment to reduce plastic packaging across its Discos, Roysters and Frisps lines.

The supplier says the flow wrapping process will see a 35% plastic packaging reduction for six-packs across these three brands, equivalent to 100 tonnes of packaging saved annually.

This process is in line with the supplier’s People & Planet strategy to use as little packaging as possible.

Minimising the amount of packaging used will also mean 620 fewer lorry journeys annually, as more products can be transported at once. It will also create more space on shelves, allowing retailers to display more stock and drive sales.

Among the flow-wrapped lines are Discos Salt & Vinegar, the leading Discos variety which is launching in a six-pack this March for the first time.

Discos is currently one of KP’s fastest-selling brands, currently growing by 39.7%. Meanwhile, Roysters and Frisps are growing by 7.1% and 4.3% respectively.
