KBE Drinks launches new premium spirits range

The range includes new rum, bourbon and chai liqueur brands, which launched in the on-trade last year

KBE Drinks has launched a new range of spirits into the off-trade, following a successful launch in hospitality last year.

The new range includes Makai Spiced Rum (40% ABV), which comes in a 70cl bottle and has a £30 RRP. Makai is inspired by Polynesia, and contains flavours of dark molasses elevated with a blend of spices including vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and tropical fruits.

Also launching is Blackland, an American bourbon whiskey made with Texas grain. Blackland is available in Bourbon Whiskey (41.5% ABV) and Texas Pecan Brown Sugar Bourbon (35% ABV) varieties, both in 70cl bottles.

The final member of the rnage is 5 Walla Chai Liqueur (17% ABV), a rum-based chai cream liqueur which the supplier says should appeal to consumers who enjoy chai lattes and cocktails, but should also attract consumers who are new to the chai flavour.

It is made from a recipe combining cinnamon, clove, cardamom, ginger and vanilla and comes in a matte black 70cl bottle with a wooden stopper.

Shaun Goode, chief operating officer at KBE Drinks, said: “We are delighted to bring this unique range of three premium spirit brands to the off-trade channel, which were all introduced into pubs, bars and restaurants last year, and are already listed by large on-trade customers like Incipio Group and Laines Pub Company.

“We know that since the start of the pandemic consumers have increasingly enjoyed mixing and making their own cocktails at home and tend to view spirit brands as an affordable luxury which they like to stock on their drinks trolley, cabinet or shelf. All three brands make exciting and versatile cocktail ingredients or can be simply enjoyed neat or with ice, and we hope retailers stock up to help make them a success.”
