JTI has confirmed the five winners of its in-depot ‘Go for Gold’ prize draw, taking home £50,000 each.
The prize draw coincided with the launch of the supplier’s new Mayfair Gold cigarette last October. Retilaers who bought an outer of the new variety in participating depots were automatically entered into the prize draw.
Mayfair Gold has achieved an 0.8% market share since launching.

Two of the winners, Neil Ramlagan of Jay’s General Store in Bolton (pictured) and Ajay Desai of Morris & Co in Croydon, said they planned to spend the winnings on a family holiday and invest in their stores.
Mark McGuinness, marketing director at JTI UK, said: “The ultra-value sector remains a key priority for us, as the fastest-growing segment in both RMC and roll-your-own tobacco. The successful launch of Mayfair Gold, in no small part, is down to the efforts of retailers across the country. So, we are thrilled to be able to give back to our trade partners and retailers as a thank you for their continued support. Our biggest congratulations go out to all the successful retailers.”
