Hancocks is bringing back its Sweetest Day in-depot events as well as launching weekly flash sales every Thursday.
Following the success of last year’s Sweetest Day events, the first one of 2024 will take place across all 14 of the wholesaler’s depots on 7 March from 8am to 8pm, sponsored by Valeo, Swizzels, Perfetti Van Melle and Nestlé.
It will consist of one-day-only deals from brands including Crazy Candy Factory, Warheads, Candy Realms and Bonds.
Customers will be able to get £25 worth of free stock when they spend £100 or more. They can also get £10 off when they buy five of the top-selling Crazy Candy Factory novelty lines.
Additionally, when retailers buy a selection of the Zed Candy range they will receive a free five-shelf FSDU and two free cases of stock.
The wholesaler will also have giveaways and prizes, including a Hisense 50-inch TV and a Swizzels hamper. Retailers could even win their height in Choc Nibbles.
Further Sweetest Day events will be held on 9 May, 1 August and 3 October.
Flash sales
There will also be in-depot exclusive deals across all 14 Hancocks depots every Thursday. These include flash deals on big brands such as Cadbury, as well as depot-specific clearance deals and special offers curated by their customers.
These will be tailored to each region’s customers. The wholesaler says the clearance deals will enable retailers to pass on the discounts to their own customers.
Kathryn Hague, head of Marketing at Hancocks, said: “Our weekly deals are a great incentive to our local regular customers, and for new retailers to come and check out what we have in store.
“When it comes to clearance offers, we are leaving our store managers in charge. They know their local customers best and can offer the best insight when it comes to low-cost treats they will love.
“Offering clearance lines is a great opportunity for retailers to stock up on brand names, offer lines their customers may not have seen before and meet consumer demand for affordable treats.
“Clearance stock can also create a positive economic ripple from wholesaler to community. Sourcing clearance confectionery, means you can offer products at affordable prices to local consumers and build loyalty with the community, whether providing budget friendly treats to family’s or enabling small businesses to thrive, the savings generated through clearance stock can create a more vibrant and inclusive local economy.”
