Ginsters launches Breakfast Roll and Butter Chicken Bake

Ginsters has expanded its savoury pastry offering with the launch of a Breakfast Roll and a Butter Chicken Bake.

Both new products will be available from 8 April. The Breakfast Roll contains smoked bacon, scrambled egg, potato and tomato ketchup in a British pork sausage roll, in puff pastry.

The supplier sees a gap in the market with this product, as 87% of the sausage roll market is made up of single-flavour pork rolls.

Meanwhile, the Butter Chicken Bake is aimed at curry lovers, with British chicken cooked in a butter sauce with a blend of spices, coconut and lemon, encased in puff pastry.

Both lines can be eaten cold or heated up. Their launch comes as Ginsters’ Sausage Roll and Bakes ranges have delivered 15% volume growth over the past three years, compared to an average category decline of 1.8%.
