UPDATE: The supplier confirmed to Better Retailing at the National Convenience Show that it is launching this month in Scotland across all major wholesalers.
National account manager Steven Wilkes also said it was in discussion with Booker for a launch across the rest of the UK at the end of May, or throughout June.
ORIGINAL: Tonic wine brand Buckfast is expanding into the ready-to-drink (RTD) category with two new canned SKUs.
Better Retailing understands the range, which consists of Original (15% ABV) and Lemonade (5% ABV) varieties with added caffeine, will be available to retailers in May through “most wholesalers”, according to a source with knowledge of the launch.

Scottish fascia group One O One Convenience shared a picture of the new cans on Facebook with the caption “Coming soon…”. The fascia has access to the range via one of its wholesalers.
