Eat Real launches new plant-based lines and updated pack design

With non-potato-based snacks growing at 14% year-on-year, Eat Real claims to be the UK’s fastest-selling 'free from' snack brand

Snack brand Eat Real has added five new plant-based variants to its range: Hummus Chips with Lime, Chilli & Sea Salt, Hummus Chips with Caramelised Onion & Balsamic; Hummus Chips with Italian Cheese and Black Pepper; Chips with Chargrilled Red Pepper & Smoked; and Lentil Chips with Greek Cheese, Tomato & Herb. 

The launch of the new range, alongside a new pack design, comes as non-potato-based snack sales are growing by 14% year-on-year according to the supplier, which claims to be the UK’s fastest-selling free-from snack brand.

Each pack is free from artificial ingredients. While the hummus range is fully HFSS compliant, the hummus and lentil variants contain 30% less fat than regular potato chips. The new flavours are also gluten-free.

Additionally, the new pack design aims to drive standout on shelf with cookbook-inspired photography of key ingredients.

Eat Real has confirmed a rollout with “major wholesale, foodservice and convenience partners”.

Sandie Dilger, chief marketing officer at Eat Real, said: “We believe snacks should be as exciting as the food we cook at home – big on flavour, inspired by kitchen combinations we love, and never feel like a compromise… the things that make our snacks taste delicious – like the alternative bases and bold recipes – are also what make them good.”
