Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) is launching Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Cherry Crush, a new limited-edition variety to coincide with Valentine’s Day.
The launch will be available from 27 January in 330ml, 500ml, 2l and 8x330ml formats. Price-marked 330ml (80p) and 500ml (£1.35) packs will also be available.
It comes as cherry variants have delivered 55% of the value sales growth across colas in the past year, with flavoured carbonates the third-largest segment in soft drinks.
Dr Pepper gets new pack design and campaign
Dr Pepper is the second-largest flavoured carbonated brand in Britain, growing ahead of the category in value and volume sales.
Additionally, the four-week period covering Valentine’s Day in 2024 was worth £160m to convenience retailers, up by 3.2% year on year. More than £3.4m of this came from value sales of Dr Pepper.
CCEP is supporting the launch with influencer partnerships, in-store sampling and out-of-home advertising. Convenience retailers will also have access to PoS material and digital assets from My.CCEP.com.
Rob Yeomans, vice-president, commercial development at CCEP GB, said: “Dr Pepper has a loyal fanbase thanks to its unique taste, and continues to deliver growth ahead of the wider flavoured carbonates category. We’re really excited for fans to try the new cherry twist on our zero sugar variant, a flavour which we know goes down well with shoppers and drives sales in retail.”
