Budweiser Brewing Group (BBG) has unveiled Corona Ligera, a lower-ABV variant of the popular Mexican lager.
The new launch is available exclusively to the Tesco Group for six months, including availability for convenience through Booker from 4 March.
With an ABV of 3.2%, it is brewed to be lighter-bodied to cater for consumers such as the 18-34 age group, which has expressed a preference for high-quality, lower-alcohol drinks and moderation.
Corona launches 4x440ml pack into convenience
Additionally, there is a further opportunity to recruit women to the low- and no-alcohol category, with Corona the number one beer of choice for women, according to Kantar.
“We’re always aiming to diversify our portfolio to meet the needs of our customers and consumers. With a steady increase in popularity with lower alcohol options, we want to offer super-premium products that will help those who want to moderate their drinking.,” says Mark Wingfield Digby, off-trade director at BBG.
