CCEP launches Powerade Golden Mango with new pack design

Sports drinks are currently the fastest-growing soft drink subcategory

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) is responding to increased demand for its Powerade sports drink range with the launch of a Golden Mango variety.

The new flavour has a tropical profile and is available in plain 500ml bottles, which feature new packaging that is available across the range. Like the rest of the Powerade range, it contains Vitamin B6, which contributes to the reduction of fatigue.

CCEP and Monster relaunch Sales Supercharged

Its launch comes as sports drinks are worth nearly £408m in Britain, growing in value by more than 45%, and in volume by 20%. This growth is the largest of any segment in the soft drinks category.

Powerade is also the number four sports brand in Britain.

Rob Yeomans, vice president commercial development at CCEP GB, said: “Powerade has huge potential, particularly with active lifestyles high on many consumers’ agendas and the sports subcategory doing so well within wider soft drinks. We hope the new look and innovation will really excite our consumers and we look forward to seeing how retailers get behind the brand in store.”
