Bebeto is set to launch a range of freeze-dried sweets in November off the back of the viral TikTok trend.

It will be available in Peach Rings, Watermelon and Marshmallow Twist varieties, each with a £2 RRP from Spar and Parfetts.

The freeze-drying process involves freezing the sweets and using a vacuum to remove moistures, creating a light, crispy and brittle texture.
Phil Hulme, commercial director at Kervan Gida, said: “The trend started on social media, but we’ve elevated it by taking full control of the freeze-drying process. Our new range is all about delivering a high-quality, unique confectionery experience that UK consumers can now enjoy straight off the shelves.”
Earlier this year, demand for freeze-dried sweets saw some stores generate more than £2,500 a month in sales. Better Retailing also spoke to two retailers – Vas Vekaria and Amrit Singh Pahal – who have launched their own freeze-dried confectionery brands, seeing strong profits.
