Lindt Lindor Tiramisu (200g) sold more units than any other product in December’s bestselling new product launches in convenience stores.
The line’s success was helped by it having the highest distribution of any product in the top 10.
Meanwhile, value-tobacco launches from Paramount topped the table by weekly sales value, with Superkings Original generating the highest weekly sales value (£48.30) despite limited distribution (13.7% of stores).
However, slim margins (6.5%) limited profitability, a common trend for traditional tobacco.
Similarly, Iqos’s Terea Starling Pearl 20s demonstrated demand for next-gen tobacco and offered a slightly better margin (11.2%).
Prime launches continue to spark shopper interest
Prime Hydration Central Cee is a standout, selling 7.9 units per week per store with a robust 40.1% margin.
Most products in this list were stocked by fewer than 5% of stores, pointing to missed opportunities for many shops.
Seasonal shifts probably explain the difficulty in identifying significant launches, as retailers continue their focus on Christmas.
